There are five layouts, each providing different workspaces,
and encompassing certain features of mp3ql:
Commander Layout
- This layout can be used to move directories and files
en masse between different locations.
Default Layout
- This layout is primarily used to create playlists and
perform everyday file management.
mp3ql Layout - This layout primarily
used to edit tags.
Document Layout
- This layout can be used to edit files, the advantage of
having two doc views is the ability to view results almost
instantaneously.
Library Layout
- This layout is primarily used for playing and managing
your music.
All of the layouts can be customised and all changes are
stored automatically. The layouts are most commonly utilised
by switching between them depending on the tasks you would
like to achieve, but if required all of the windows can
be combined into a single layout.
Next to the layout toolbar on the menu bar is the Widget
toolbar which is used to hide/unhide windows, the buttons
shown are directly relative to the windows in your current
layout, for example: In the Default Layout buttons are shown
for the Tree, Playlist and Detail Views.
Adding Windows - This can be done from either the
menu bar or the context menu, in both cases under Window.
For each window there are four locations; Above, Left, Right
and Below. It must be noted that these positions are all
relative to the current location and will be slightly different
according to where you select them from, therefore it is highly recommended that you spend a little
time in order to understand how the windows can be arranged.
Removing Windows - This is done via the context
menu from a chosen window, Window
» Close.
Undock - By selecting Window » Undock you can separate a window
from the main program area and position it as you please.
This can be very useful for viewing multiple docs or if
you have a dual monitor setup.
